Reverend Chris has always been associated with church life; his family being involved with Hartshill church since the earlier 20th Century.
He started his career as a press photographer specialising in the military, spending time in Northern Ireland with the Staffordshire regiment and Arctic training with the Lancers in Norway, numerous exercises in Germany and flying with The Red Arrows.
He was Features Editor and Chief Photographer of the Sentinel for over 20 years eventually going freelance; he ran his own press photography business during the 1990's with high profile clients such as Wedgwood.
He authored several walking books including "The Staffordshire Way" hence his nickname "The Rambling Rev"!!
He undertook ordination training in the early 2000's, at Queens College Birmingham, being ordained in 2011 as a volunteer priest.
After further training, he took up the priest- hood on a full time basis as Rector of three Parishes ; Hartshill, Penkhull and Trent Vale.
He has continued his military connection as chaplain to Staffordshire Wing RAF Air Cadets-having recently returned from an exercise in RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus.
He is currently chaplain governor to St John's CE (A) Primary School where is he is a regular visitor and is passionate about children's education and well being.
