Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium (PP) is additional funding (extra money) given to schools to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.  These include pupils who are entitled to free school meals (FSM), those looked after by the local authority and children of armed service personnel.  There is also the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) which is also additional funding for early years settings to improve the education they provide for disadvantaged 3 and 4 year olds.  Historically levels of attainment have been lower for FSM pupils, this is also a national trend. The intended effect of this funding is to accelerate progress and raise attainment.

The Government allow schools to decide how money is used to improve achievement.  Our key objective in using the Pupil Premium funding is to narrow the gap between pupil groups. Through targeted interventions we are working towards eliminating barriers to learning and progress.  Our aim is to ensure that our children make accelerated progress as they move through the school and importantly support them in reaching their full potential.

Parents… please come and talk to us and we will be able to support you in understanding if you qualify for free school meals or other categories
